LSF is a small international charitable organisation founded in Belgium in 2001.
It began with a repair project run by two violin makers, an American and a Belgian in schools in Havana, Cuba. From this it was clear that many talented musical children lack properly repaired and maintained string instruments.
LSF was set up as a permanent organisation to send more trained violin and bow makers to countries where these services are lacking. These volunteers are trained professionals who are willing to visit the developing world to work on instruments and share their expertise.
LSF now has a UK section (LSF UK) which organises its own funds and plans to sets up projects in new countries where there is a need.
